The critical care unit block is the predominant volume of the new extension. It soars above the western limit of the basilar, creating a double-height space marking the entrance of the new complex. This atrium gathers the main reception facilities and becomes a new identity hub, a convergence point for all programmatic elements. The extension project is identified by a contemporary architectural language and materiality, sober and lasting.
