Simon Tremblay is a highly versatile architect, appreciated for his dynamism, professionalism, boundless energy, and design and project management skills. He has been with the firm since 2011, working primarily on large-scale projects in the transportation and healthcare sectors. His skills in the planning and design of clinical projects, notably for the expansion and modernization of the Montreal Heart Institute, earned him praise from Dr. Alain Vadeboncoeur, former head of the Montreal Heart Institute’s Department of Emergency Medicine. Simon participated in the design of the Université de Sherbrooke’s Pavillon de santé de précision et de recherche translationnelle, and is the project manager and designer of the Montreal General Hospital’s new medical device reprocessing unit (MDRU).
In the transportation field, he contributed to the feasibility study for the Montréal metro Blue line extension and to the design of the future P5 Parking at Montréal-Trudeau International Airport. Also at the airport, he was assistant project manager for the main aspects of the ambitious development program on the city side. Since late 2020, he has been co-directing the design of Defence Construction Canada’s facilities at Bagotville military base to house new fighter jets.
As Director, and as part of the firm’s project management committee, Simon is involved in welcoming new employees and mentoring the next generation. Through his “Sustainability Professional” certification from ENVISION—a normative framework adapted to transportation infrastructure projects—and his role in the firm’s sustainable development committee, Simon contributes to developing resilient infrastructure that aims for high environmental efficiency.
