Architect Catherine Filcich becomes a Certified Specification Practitioner
Architect and specification writer Catherine Filcich has earned the designation of Certified Specification Practitioner (CSP), a certification issued by Devis de Construction Canada that recognizes expertise and experience in this field of practice.
Architectural specifications are the documents that, together with drawings, provide all the information required for the construction of a project. Complementary to drawings, they contain detailed information on the materials to be used and their application, as well as the obligations of each party in relation to the construction contract. They are also an opportunity to specify material choices and installation conditions that promote sustainable development.
Devoting her practice to writing technical specifications for the firm’s projects, this senior architect is not only the second person to obtain this certification in Quebec, but also the first woman to do so. Jodoin Lamarre Pratte architectes is delighted to have a certified specification writer on its team, as it demonstrates the importance the firm places on this expertise and this crucial step in the success of its projects.
