Presentation of the 1st Jury Prize at the 33rd edition of the exhibition-encan L'Objet
Supporting the next generation of architects is a priority for the firm, and for several years, Jodoin Lamarre Pratte architectes has been actively involved in partnership activities with Quebec university architecture programs.
As an associate partner in the selection and presentation of the jury's 1st prize, the firm renewed its support for the 33rd edition of the exhibition-encan L'Objet, organized by architecture students from Université Laval, held on March 21st at the Musée de la Civilisation in Quebec City.
For the 1st Jury Prize, the firm's selection committee was charmed not only by the symbolism of La Relique - Signet d'ambiance but also by its materiality.
Jodoin Lamarre Pratte architectes sees L'Objet as an opportunity to reflect and provoke thought through the poetry of materials and assemblages. For this reason, the firm decided to reward La Relique, as this object questions the established order and overturns paradigms in a simple yet powerful way.
In a context of accelerating knowledge circulation, digital immateriality, and novelties trying to settle into our lives without warning, it presents itself as an anchor—an opportunity to build on acquired insights, pass on know-how, and maintain continuity with calm and benevolence. The committee found a resonance with the firm founded in 1958, its values, and its practice in this symbolism.
