Montréal métro's Côte-Vertu underground garage and access buildings
The construction of an underground station for the parking and maintenance of the Azur trains —attached to the Côte-Vertu Station— will allow a higher frequency of trains on the orange line, especially during rush hours. This will support the growth in ridership on this line and the increased offer of service with the extension of the blue line. Three surface buildings will provide access to the garage and its operations. The first one, three stories high and located immediately above the garage, will be the main access point for employees and house mechanical rooms. The other two auxiliary structures will serve as an emergency exit and as an access to a mechanical ventilation station. The project earned the Envision Platinum for Sustainable Infrastructure Award, a first in Canada for a public transit project.
