Before being selected for the design and production of plans and specifications in traditional mode for the new Mother-Child and Emergency Centre (CMEU) of the Centre hospitalier universitaire de Sherbrooke, the firm worked on three distinct mandates for the development of this major expansion and refurbishment project for the Fleurimont Hospital: the functional and technical program (2014), the mandate to assist in the preparation and presentation of the revised technical program by the SQI and the drafting of the Dossier d’opportunité by the SQI (2015 and 2016), and finally the development of a complete technical proposal as part of the design-build request for proposals process in 2018. The project includes the expansion and consolidation of emergency services, child psychiatry, pediatrics, maternity, and neonatology, for both outpatient and inpatient services. The creation of a new main entrance for the hospital, logistics support services, an underground parking lot, and a new building for generators that will adequately meet the facilities needs are also part of the mandate. With this 34,500 m² addition, the CIUSSS Estrie-CHUS will be able to offer modernized services that are adapted to the realities of specialized and super-specialized care in a welcoming and comforting environment. This BIM project is aiming for LEED v4 certification.
