A year rich in activities and events
Fostering wellbeing and a rich social life has always been a primary concern at Jodoin Lamarre Pratte architectes. The firm devotes its practice to designing sustainable and socially beneficial architecture projects, and we cherish our collaborative, inclusive office culture. We are committed to fostering a respectful, rewarding, and fulfilling work environment, where the stable, strong, and complementary nature of our team members promotes rich exchanges.
In 2023, our 65th anniversary year, our team members organized or participated in over fifty activities and events: cultural outings; film and lecture screenings; volunteer activities; creative and bike-maintenance workshops; travel to international conventions and conferences; sports and tournaments; surprise lunches; drawing classes; ideas contests; Pecha Kucha evenings; support activities for the next generation; and gourmet culinary excursions. We thank each member of our team who, through their initiatives and diverse interests, contributes to the richness of our community.

The Annual Oyster Party, a tradition since the firm’s early years, is celebrated in November and is the year’s most important event. Special thanks to our 2023 organizers, and to our DJs Marcelo Sanchez, Alex Lamontagne, Katia Broz, and Simon Cyr.
Supporting the next generation
For many years, Jodoin Lamarre Pratte architectes has engaged in partnership activities with Quebec’s college and university architecture programs, as well as financed scholarships. As part of our 65th anniversary celebrations, we showed our support for the next generation of architects by contributing to various events and student organizations: the Ouss Qu’on S’en Va symposium for the next generation of Quebec architects; the graduation exhibition of the Université de Montréal’s Faculté de l’aménagement (EFFA); the 31st edition of L’Objet, the exhibition-auction of objects by Université de Laval architecture students; and the graduation exhibition of Université de Laval (ExFA) architecture students. We also help train new generations of architects and technologists through travel and excellence scholarships.
Congratulations once again to Fabio Lima and Anouk Hoffmann-Morin, architecture students at Université de Montréal who each won a Travel + Technical Grant from the Fonds Jodoin Lamarre Pratte architectes in May; Xavier Sgobba, winner of the Originalement rigoureux thematic bursary awarded at ExFA in June; and Sina Moazamifarahani and Alex Giard, Architecture Technology graduates from Cégep du Vieux-Montréal and Cégep de Saint-Laurent who received a bursary for the high quality of their end-of-year technical dossier. A large bursary was also awarded to Justin Beaulieu, a master's student in architecture at McGill University, for the excellence of his academic record.
The Travel + Technical Grant emphasizes the importance of exploration to the development of critical thinking and constructive strategies in architectural design. The travel project must focus on the contribution of techniques and details of construction to the conceptual development of a project. Two scholarships rather than one were offered this year to mark our 65th anniversary.
