Jodoin Lamarre Pratte architectes and STOA ARCHITECTURE to design a new campus in Beaconsfield for Batshaw Youth and Family Centres
Under the direction of CIUSSS de l'Ouest-de-l'Île-de-Montréal, the Batshaw Youth and Family Centres welcome children and adolescents under the care of the Direction of Youth Protection. Faced with the aging of its facilities and the lack of proximity to the populations it serves, the institution has been working for many years to create a new campus in Beaconsfield for youth aged 12 to 17.
Two housing units designed by STOA ARCHITECTURE were inaugurated on the site in May 2022 (photos). The mandate won by the consortium is to build three additional housing units as well as facilities for therapeutic, administrative, sports and support services. The ambition of the project is to create a welcoming campus, open to the community and conducive to the rehabilitation of young people facing difficulties. With a surface area of 7,600 m² and a budget of $64 million, this major project is being piloted by the Société québécoise des infrastructures.
