A major expansion of Hôpital Charles-Le Moyne

Jodoin Lamarre Pratte architectes, in a consortium with Barin, STGM, and LLA, received a mandate from the Société québécoise des infrastructures to design a critical care pavilion above the emergency room and an extension adjacent to the existing medical imaging department, representing a total of 19,000 m² of new construction and 4,200 m² of redevelopment at Hôpital Charles-Le Moyne.

The new critical care pavilion will include the operating theatre unit; the day surgery service; the pre-admission clinic; the reprocessing unit for medical devices; the intensive care unit; the satellite pharmacy; the respiratory therapy service; and the units for brief hospitalization and mental health intervention.

Complementary to the development of this pavilion is a project to acquire and install a positron emission tomography (PET) scanner and to relocate nuclear medicine by expanding the existing medical imaging—the functional and technical program (PFT) of this project was co-developed by our team.

The project responds to the significant space shortage at the hospital, by making it possible to group critical functions (the emergency, intensive care unit, and operating theatre) in the same building, with the long-term plan to optimize functional and operational connections between these units. The reorganization will resolve several spatial and operational limitations in other zones of Hôpital Charles-Le Moyne to better meet the needs of the local population, while limiting the impact on the site and future work.

The project, executed in PCI and BIM, is estimated to cost $216.3 million and is scheduled to be completed in 2029.

Repairing the masonry of Pavilion Roger-Gaudry at the Université de Montréal

In consortium with EVOQ, we have begun the rehabilitation of the masonry of the Université de Montréal’s Pavilion Roger-Gaudry, located on the Campus de la Montagne.

This $15 million project will be linked to the redesign of the spaces in the Roger-Gaudry Building that were vacated following the relocation of the science departments to the MIL Campus in Outremont. The work is also tied into a major project to replace the pavilion’s windows and will be divided into four phases, ongoing through 2026.

Contract for on-demand services for the CIUSSS de l’Est-de-l'Île-de-Montréal

Jodoin Lamarre Pratte architectes won first place in a call for bids issued by the CIUSSS de l’Est-de-l’Île-de-Montréal for a three-year contract to execute services on demand. The firm thus becomes the preferred supplier among the thirteen service providers selected to support the CIUSSS in carrying out projects that will maintain, upgrade, and modernize its facilities. These projects, with construction costs of up to $5 million, will involve redeveloping clinical and care spaces, refurbishing buildings envelopes, and updating for compliance with standards.
