Celebrating our expertise in healthcare this June
The UAFS’s "Journées de l’Architecture en Santé"
The Union des architectes francophones pour la santé (UAFS) will hold its "Journées de l’Architecture en Santé à Montréal" for a second year on June 3 and 4 at the Science Centre.
Senior partners Martine Gévry and Julie Boucher will present a lecture entitled"Pour une intégration réussie de l’art à l’architecture dans les établissements de santé" (Successfully integrating art and architecture in healthcare facilities), along with Serge Murphy, artist and specialist in the Ministère de la Culture et des Communications du Québec’s "Politique de l'intégration de l'art à l'architecture," while architect director Stéphanie Boudreau will take part in a presentation on the expansion and modernization of the Verdun Hospital.
Julie Boucher, co-designer of the integrated cancer treatment centre (centre intégré de cancérologie – CIC) in Quebec City, will also take part in a round table discussion on the project's post-occupancy evaluation. Thanks to work carried out as part of a pilot project at Université Laval in a course on architectural programming and evaluation, offered as part of the professional master's program, the centre has benefited from the evaluation of all its users according to objectives set at the start of the project, in terms of both functionality and design qualities—a valuable tool for proactively measuring and improving architectural quality.
Once again, participants will have the opportunity to visit the new hospital complex in Quebec City—including the integrated cancer treatment centre—built in consortium with Groupe A, DMG, Lemay, NFOE, and GLCRM, and the major expansion and modernization project of the Centre Hospitalier Universitaire Sainte-Justine, for which our firm was a member of the master team.

"Soin, culture et territoire" Forum
Senior partner Martine Gévry will take part in the round table discussion "L'hôpital dans la ville, l'art à l'hôpital" (Hospital in the city, art in the hospital) as part of the "Soin, culture et territoire" forum (Care, culture, and territory) forum, to be held at the Canadian Centre for Architecture on June 5.
Organized by Culture Montréal, the forum brings together researchers, artists, urban planners, architects, and cultural workers to discuss the theme of the city of care—a more empathetic, inclusive, and resilient city— and the role that arts and culture can play.
